Copilot Proxy IPs

Copilot on the web, in Office and in your IDE runs from a clean fixed exit: steady sign-ins, fewer verification prompts.

Native ISP and datacenter IPs lease from one month and keep their address, ready to register in security policies; short-term IPs run 1–24 hours.

  • Countries and regions 195+
  • Exit address Fixed for the lease

Daily use, 365 seats and cloud dev boxes

Personal accounts, Office seats, developer laptops and cloud dev boxes each get their own exit, and sign-ins and allow lists are managed around those exits.

Everyday Copilot, one IP per account

Chat, draft and create images with Copilot on the web, in the Edge sidebar or on Windows while your Microsoft account signs in from one home-broadband IP: fewer unusual-sign-in alerts and no verification breaking up long chats.

Native ISP IP

Microsoft 365 Copilot seats without sign-in alerts

Staff open Copilot in Word, Excel and Teams from the same home-broadband IP every day, instead of being flagged for unfamiliar sign-ins and re-prompted for MFA on hotel, hotspot and café networks.

Native ISP IP

GitHub Copilot completions that keep flowing

Point VS Code or JetBrains at the proxy and completions and Copilot Chat ride a fixed exit; if your organisation enforces an IP allow list on its repositories, git pulls and pushes use the same address, so the list needs just one entry.

Broadcast residential

Cloud dev boxes on one datacenter exit

Self-hosted cloud dev machines and remote desktops share one dedicated datacenter IP, so changing cloud regions never breaks the allow list and developers can pull code and use Copilot from first boot.

Datacenter IP

Native ISP for personal accounts and Office seats, broadcast residential for developer laptops, datacenter for servers and cloud dev boxes, short-term for agent tests.

Developers coding Broadcast IP$4/IP/month Developers use GitHub Copilot on laptops and the organisation wants a fixed source. Residential-registered at a lower cost; add the address to the GitHub organisation list.
Cloud dev boxes and remote desktops Datacenter IP$3/IP/month Dev environments run on your own cloud servers that come and go. Every machine shares one datacenter exit; register it once and leave it.

Sign-ins from anywhere vs registered exits

Copilot itself is easy; the friction is sign-in. Staff connect from every kind of network, policies tighten and the alerts multiply.

Editor and terminal setup

HTTP, HTTPS and SOCKS5 all work, with username-and-password or IP-allowlist auth; set it once each in the editor, git and the browser.

Confirm it's the registered exit

Before rollout, one command should return the same IP you registered as a named location.

curl -x http://USER:PASS@GATEWAY:PORT https://example.com/

VS Code through the proxy

Add one line to VS Code's settings.json and GitHub Copilot completions and chat leave from that exit.

"http.proxy": "http://USER:PASS@GATEWAY:PORT"

Git on the same exit

Pushes and pulls use the same fixed IP, so the organisation list holds one address.

git config --global http.proxy http://USER:PASS@GATEWAY:PORT

Copilot proxy FAQ

Pick by use: personal accounts and Office seats suit native ISP IPs (From $5/IP/month), developer laptops broadcast residential, cloud dev boxes datacenter IPs and agent tests short-term IPs (From $0.17/IP). Rotating IPs change, so keep them away from sign-ins.

Usually staff hop between hotel, hotspot and home networks. Give each person one fixed home-broadband exit for Office apps and the browser; with the same location daily, alerts and repeat MFA prompts drop sharply.

In the Microsoft Entra admin center, create a named location with your team's fixed exit IPs, mark it trusted and reference it in your conditional access policies. The IPs don't change during the lease, so the policy stays put.

In VS Code, set http.proxy in settings.json; in JetBrains, enter host, port and credentials under the HTTP proxy settings. Completions and Copilot Chat then use that exit.

Give developers fixed exits and add those IPs to the organisation's list. Laptops on broadcast residential and cloud dev boxes on one datacenter IP keep the list short and easy to maintain.

Give your Microsoft account one native ISP IP. Edge and the Copilot app on Windows follow the system proxy, so enter host and port in Windows settings (IP-allowlist auth is simplest there); on a phone, use the Wi-Fi proxy settings. With web, desktop and phone on one IP, the account's sign-in location never moves.

Native ISP, broadcast residential and datacenter IPs bill per IP per month (From $3/IP/month); short-term IPs come in packs (From $0.17/IP) that don't expire.
